Jane E. Schubkegel

Jane Schubkegel, 62, of Mascoutah, IL born Dec. 28, 1949 in Belleville, IL, died Thursday, Mar. 15, 2012 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL.


Jane worked as a secretary in civil service at Scott AFB, IL before retiring. She was a member of the St. Louis Zoo, and the Missouri Botanical Gardens.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Augusta, nee Heimberger, Schubkegel; and a sister, Marilyn Schubkegel.


She is survived by her brother, Roger (Rebecca) Schubkegel of Mascoutah, IL; a nephew, Col. Scott (Dawn) Schubkegel of Lakenheath, England; and a niece, Sandy (Eric) Shackelford and son Eric of O’Fallon, IL.


Memorials may be made to Big Cat Country at the St. Louis Zoo, or the Smiling Eddie Fund, c/o Mascoutah Animal Hospital, or to Mascoutah Animal Hospital Stray Dog/Cat Fund.


Visitation: There was no visitation


Funeral: Graveside services were held in Mascoutah City Cemetery on Monday, Mar. 19, 2012 with Rev. Joseph Feldmann officiating.
