Frieda A. Kurtz

Frieda A. Kurtz, nee Middendorf, 71, of St. Libory, IL, born Sept. 1, 1939 in St. Louis, MO, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010 at St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, MO.


Frieda was a retired cafeteria supervisor from St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville, IL and member of St. Liborius Catholic Church in St. Libory, IL.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Susan, nee Sommer, Middendorf; her husband, Louis D. Kurtz whom she married in St. Libory, IL on July 8, 1959 and who died May 29, 2003; a sister, Laurie Sindel, and a brother, Robert Middendorf.


She is survived by a brother, Leroy (Diana) Middendorf of Fayetteville, IL; four sisters, Rosalie (Steve) Santel of Damiansville, IL, Sharon (Tom) Buss of Belleville, IL, JoAnn (Jim) Mueller of Belleville, IL, and Barb (Tom) Sintzel of Belleville, IL; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Betty Middendorf of Steeleville, IL, and Louis (Jane) Sindel of Mascoutah, IL; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great nieces.


Memorials may be made to St. Liborius Cemetery Fund; American Cancer Society; or American Diabetes Assn.


Visitation: From 4 to 8 PM Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010 at the Moll Funeral Home in St. Libory, IL. A prayer service will be held at 6 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home.


Funeral: A funeral mass will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010 at St. Liborius Catholic Church in St. Libory, IL with Father Stan Konieczny officiating. Burial will be in St. Liborius Catholic Cemetery, St. Libory, IL.
