Daniel L. Rasch, Sr.

Daniel L. Rasch, Sr., 78, of Mascoutah, IL, was born on Feb. 23, 1932 in Mascoutah and died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, IL.


Daniel was a retired laborer and life member of the Laborer’s Local 742 in Mascoutah, and member of St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Randolph and Alvina, nee Ohl, Rasch; and a sister, Betty in infancy.


He is survived by his wife, Lois R., nee Stibal, Rasch whom he married in Belleville, IL on Aug. 21, 1954; three children, Daniel L. Rasch, Jr. of Venedy, IL, Larry (Cheryl) Rasch of Mascoutah, IL, and Sharol Rasch and Gary Mattern of Mascoutah, IL; eight grandchildren, Tera (Craig) Scroggins, Sheila and Logan Rasch, Alex, Kyle and Jordan Rasch, Dustin and Darin Mattern; two great-grandchildren, Jade and Aiden Scroggins; mother-in-law, Willetta Stibal of Mascoutah, IL; sisters-in-law, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.


In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, 1465 S. Grand Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63104.


Visitation: from 9 to 11 AM Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.


Funeral: funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010 at the Moll Funeral Home with the Rev. Hugh Fitz officiating. Burial will be in Mascoutah City Cemetery.
