John C. Herzing

John C. Herzing, 79, of Fayetteville, IL, born Feb. 17, 1930 in Belleville, IL, died Monday, December 14, 2009 at his residence.


John was a retired equipment specialist for the U. S. Army Aviation Systems Command in the Civil Service.


He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna, nee Moeller, Herzing; a grandson, Joel Terry, four brothers, Virgil, Arthur, Marion and Harold Herzing; and two sisters, Mildred Herzing and Gloria Held.


He is survived by his wife, Evelyn A., nee Kuklinski, Herzing, whom he married in Belleville, IL on Feb. 25, 1966; a daughter, Joan Fults of Fulton, MO; three step-children, Paul (Barb) Terry of Virden, IL, Fran Luebbers of Fayetteville, IL, and Linda (David) Laux of Fayetteville, IL; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren.


Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, Inc. or to the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department.


Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Belleville, IL at 11:15 AM on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009.
