Hazel M. Evans

Hazel M. Evans, nee George, 96 of Trenton, IL, formerly of St. Louis, MO, born June 28, 1912 in Ellington, MO, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009 at the Aviston Countryside Manor in Aviston, IL.


Hazel was a homemaker and she was the former director of Christian Education at the Brentwood Congregational Church, Brentwood, MO where she was a longtime member.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd R. Evans, Sr. in 1961; her parents, Otho and Lily, nee Chitwood, George; a son, Floyd R. Evans, Jr.; and seven brothers and sisters.


She is survived by a daughter, Mary (Don) Barttelbort of Belleville, IL; daughter-in-law, Gail Evans of Tyler, TX; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Evans of St. Louis, MO, and Geneva George of Salem, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: There will be no visitation.


Funeral: A graveside service and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
