Clarence W. Marler, 78, of Fayetteville, IL, born Nov. 26, 1934 in St. Clair County, IL, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 at his residence.
He was a retired coal miner and service station manager. Clarence was a member of the former Trinity U.C.C., Fayetteville, IL, member of U.M.W.A. District 12 and a U.S. Army Reservist.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma L., nee Schneider, Marler whom he married in Lenzburg, IL on June 12, 1953 and who died on June 17, 2002, his parents, Bron M. and Ora H., nee Blank, Marler, a brother, Jack Marler, a sister-in-law, Joan Schlesinger and a brother-in-law, James Clyde Schlesinger.
Surviving are his sons, Gregory (Flor) Marler of Fayetteville, IL, Brad (Cyndi) Marler of Smithton, IL, Kelly (Chris) Marler of Fayetteville, IL; grandchildren, Jacob, Emily, Katherine, Samuel and Rebecca Marler; a brother, Bill (Angela) Marler of Marissa, IL; a sister, Doris (Jim) Rushing of Marissa, IL; sister-in-law, Martha Marler of Pinckneyville, IL; also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of all other gifts memorials may be made to Trinity U.C.C. Cemetery Fund, c/o Illinois South Conference, 1312 Broadway, Highland, IL 62249.
Visitation: will be held from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012 and 7:30 to 9:45 AM Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012 at the Moll Funeral Home, Mascoutah, IL.
Funeral: funeral services will be held 10 AM, Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012 at Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah with Rev. Earl Crecelius officiating. Burial will follow in Trinity U.C.C. Cemetery, Fayetteville IL.
