Hazel A. Bischoff, nee Koenitz, 98, of Mascoutah, IL, born Nov. 2, 1914 in New Athens, IL, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012 at St. Paul’s Home, Belleville, IL.
She was a sewing instructor at the former Martha Manning Dress Factory in Mascoutah, a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Mascoutah, Women of the Moose Chapter 392, Mascoutah and Trenton Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip W. Bischoff whom she married in New Athens, IL on June 6, 1942 and who died May 21, 2001, a grandson, Charles P. Bischoff, Jr., her parents, Charles and Elizabeth, nee Burke, Koenitz, three brothers, Alonzo Koenitz, twin brothers in infancy, a sister and brother-in-law, Velma (Melvin) Carr and a nephew, Dale Carr.
Surviving are her sons, Charles P. (Jeanette) Bischoff, Sr. of Jacksonville, FL and James D. (Donna) Bischoff of Belleville, IL; a daughter, Bettie K. (Robert) Lercher of Shiloh, IL; grandchildren, Michael (Laura) Bischoff, Christopher (Lydia) Bischoff, Philip P. (Amanda) Bischoff, Michelle Bischoff, Todd (Michelle) Lercher and Jodie (Tony) Muffo; great grandchildren, Dylan Lercher, Briseis, Novella and Elam Muffo, Shelby, Brianna and Hailey Bischoff.
Memorials may be made to St. John United Church of Christ.
Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah and from 9 to 10 AM Saturday, Dec. 1 at the church. There will be a Moose Ritual 7 PM Friday evening.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held 10 AM Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at St. John United Church of Christ with the Rev. Hugh Fitz officiating. Burial will follow in Mascoutah City Cemetery.
