Tom Andrew Walthes

Tom Andrew Walthes, 69, of Glenwood, IL, formerly of Mascoutah, IL, born May 3, 1943 in St. Louis, MO, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012 at his residence.

Tom was a retired Chemical Engineer; a member of the NRA; and his great love in life was baseball. He was a dedicated St. Louis Cardinal fan and around Chicago was known as “Cardinal Tom”.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William “Tom” and Marguerite, nee Leibrock, Walthes, and a brother, Dan Walthes.

Surviving is his wife, Stephanie, nee Kennedy, Walthes whom he married in New Orleans, LA on June 15, 1968; a niece, Sharol (Jason) Reese of Mascoutah, IL, and a nephew, Scott (Jennifer) Walthes of Mascoutah, IL; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and other nieces, nephews and cousins in New Orleans, Houston, and California.

Visitation: visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012 at the Moll Funeral Home, Mascoutah, IL.

Memorial: memorial services will be held 7 PM Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012 at the funeral home with the Rev. Hugh Fitz officiating. Graveside services will be held 10 AM Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 in Mascoutah City Cemetery, Mascoutah, IL.
