Harvey V. Mccowan

Harvey V. “Mac” McGowan, 77, of Mascoutah, IL, born Nov. 22, 1935 in Oak Grove, LA, died Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville.


Mac was a retired Technical Sgt. from the U. S. Air Force and a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 7682, Mascoutah, a member of the American Legion Post 292, Mascoutah and a U. S. Air Force Vietnam War veteran.


He was preceded in death by his parents, John D. and Myrtle, nee Sanders, McCowan, a brother and a sister.


He is survived by his wife, Brenda A., nee Green, McCowan whom he married in Braintree Essex, England on Feb. 1, 1962 and a daughter, Janene (Michael) Mowery of Ballwin, MO.

Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.


Funeral: Graveside services will be held 10 AM Friday, March 8, 2013 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with Pastor Jack Spratte officiating.
