Gladys E. Lauerman

Gladys E. Lauerman, nee, Herman, 97, of Mascoutah, IL born, Nov. 19, 1915 in New Athens Twp., IL died Saturday, June 22, 2013 at her residence.


She was a homemaker and retired co-owner of Mascoutah Lumber and Supply, New Athens Lumber Co. and Freeburg Lumber Co.; she was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Mascoutah, served multiple terms on the Mascoutah School Board and had a lifelong interest in American History and current events.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Tillie, nee Barthel, Herman and her husband, Louis E. Lauerman whom she married in New Athens, IL on May 9, 1936 and who died on July 28, 2006.


Surviving are her children, Dave (Rosalie) Lauerman of Woodstock, IL, Mary Lauerman of Highland Park, IL and Jim (Wanda) Lauerman of St. Peters, MO; 2 grandsons, Kurt (Tricia) Lauerman and Tom (Shannon) Lauerman; great-grandchildren, Thomas, Charlotte and Marcella Lauerman; nieces and nephews.


Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church Memorial Fund and accepted at the funeral home.


Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 7 PM Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Moll Funeral Home, in Mascoutah, IL and Thursday, June 27 from 9 to 10 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Mascoutah, IL.


Funeral: Funeral services will be held 10 AM Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Kirk M. Clayton officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Freeburg, IL.
