Leroy C Middendorf

Leroy C. Middendorf, 69, of Fayetteville, IL born Feb. 18, 1944 in St. Louis, MO died Aug. 20, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.


He was a retired hod carrier, a member of St. Pancratius Catholic Church, Fayetteville; member and former business agent of Belleville Hod Carriers Local 197; member of O’Fallon Laborers Local 670; former board member of SW-IL Laborers District Council; former member and captain of Fayetteville Community Volunteer Fire Company.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Susan, nee Sommer, Middendorf, two sisters and brother-in-law, Frieda (Louis) Kurtz and Laurie Sindel, a brother, Robert Middendorf and father-in-law, Loren Rehmer.


Surviving is his wife, Diana E., nee Rehmer, Middendorf whom he married in Darmstadt, IL on Nov. 14, 1964, his children, Kenneth (Susan) Middendorf of Fayetteville, IL, Heather (Murali) Sundar of Edwardsville, IL and Alicia (Andrew) Morgan of Belleville, IL; seven grandchildren, Anthony, Stephen and Samantha Middendorf, Alexander and Maya Sundar, Alaina Morgan and expecting the seventh grandchild in approximately two weeks; four sisters, Rosie (Steve) Santel, Sharon (Tom) Buss, JoAnn (Jim) Mueller, Barb (Tom) Sintzel; mother-in-law, Doris Rehmer; brothers-in-law, Thomas Rehmer and Louie (Jane) Sindel; sister-in-law, Betty Middendorf; also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 9 PM Friday, Aug. 23, 2013 at Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL. There will be a prayer service held at 4 PM and a Fayetteville Community Volunteer Fire Company Prayer Service at 7:30 PM at the funeral home.


Funeral: A funeral mass will be held 10 AM Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013 at St. Pancratius Catholic Church in Fayetteville, IL with Fr. Stan Konieczny and Fr. Kenneth York officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Gardens of Memory Mausoleum, Belleville, IL.
