Ethel M. Hiemer

Ethel M. Hiemer, nee Haas, 78, of Belleville, IL, born May 4, 1935 in Belleville, IL, died Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Ethel was a member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah; Holy Childhood Council of Catholic Women; and Women of the Moose Chapter 392 of Mascoutah.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Erwin J. and Edna E., nee Jung, Haas; and her husband, August C. Hiemer whom she married in E. St. Louis, IL on Feb. 4, 1967 and who died Mar. 14, 1999.

She is survived by three sons, August “Sonny” Hiemer, Michael J. Hiemer, and Daniel C. Hiemer all of Mascoutah, IL; and a grandson, Jacob D. Hiemer of Mascoutah, IL.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, or to the American Diabetes Association.

Visitation: Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Friday Jan. 24, 2014 at Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL. A Women of the Moose ritual will be held at 6:30 PM Friday evening at the funeral home.

Funeral: A funeral Mass will be held 10 AM Saturday Jan. 25, 2014 at Holy Childhood Catholic Church with Fr. Elmar Mauer officiating. Burial will be in Mascoutah City Cemetery, Mascoutah, IL.
