Donnie G Meredith

Donnie G. Meredith, 79, of Mascoutah, IL born Oct. 13, 1935 in Marion, IL died Sunday, May 3, 2015 at his residence.

Don was a retired Major from the U. S. Air Force and also a retired civil service employee from Scott AFB. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Mascoutah, IL and a U. S. Air Force and U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean and Viet Nam wars.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Vercel, nee Purdue, Meredith, a sister, Loudean Winkleman and a brother, William Meredith.

Surviving are his wife, Vonda L., nee Moss, Meredith of Mascoutah whom he married in Norfolk, VA on March 6, 1958; a son, Richard Meredith of Mascoutah, IL; a daughter, Stacey (Damon) Chaffin of Mascoutah, IL; two grandchildren, Meredith and Michael Chaffin; a sister-in-law, Sharon (Ed) Barnett of Emporia, KS; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral :  a memorial service will be held  1 PM Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church in Mascoutah with Pastor Kirk Clayton officiating.  Burial will follow with military honors in Mascoutah City Cemetery.
