Almont "Al" R. Shortsleeves, 71, with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Almont "Al" Shortsleeves on December 5th at home. He was born on May 7th, 1954, in Vermont.
Al retired as a Master Sergeant after 23 years of service to the United States Air Force. He later worked for Unisys at Scott AFB. Al was a lifetime member of Scott VFW Post 4183. He was a beloved husband, father, Pop, and soon to be great grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert R. and Gloria Shortsleeves.
He is survived by his wife Ann of 52 years, sons John (Linda), Michael (Saori) Shortsleeves, and daughter, Jennifer (Joe) Reinhardt; grandchildren, Chris, Charlie, Charlotte, Emma, Ocean and Kayle; his sisters Lisa, Patricia, and Ann; also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of all other gifts, memorials may be made to the wishes of the family. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting mollfuneralhome.com.
VISITATION: From 2 to 4 PM Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025, at Moll Funeral Home, Mascoutah, IL with a Scott VFW Post 4183 Ritual service held at 4 PM. A private burial will be held at a later date in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
