Bob "Chick" Fritz, 86, of Belleville, IL born on May 29, 1939, in Mascoutah, IL died Tuesday April 28, 2026, at his home.
As an owner of Robert "Chick" Fritz, Inc, he continued to work until the day he past. He was a member of various organizations including founding Board member of Citizens Community Bank, President of Associated Beer Distributors of Illinois, United Cerebral Palsy Board of Western Illinois, National Board of Beer Wholesalers, Founding Member of the Belleville Sister Cities, Belle Scott Committee, founding of the Belleville Oktoberfest and the Mascoutah Improvement Association. As a proud community member, he received various awards; United Cerebral Palsy, Elks Man of the Year, Outstanding Citizen from the Belleville Jaycees and the Matino Award from Associated Beer Distributors of Illinois. He was an avid conservationist and hunter, loved spending time with friends and family, traveling the world and not to mention enjoying a cold beer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dorothy Fritz, sister and brother-in-law, Jeannette (Joe) Zinck, and twin sisters, Dixie and Diane Fritz in infancy.
Bob is survived by his wife, Ruth (Rickhoff) Fritz, whom he married at St. Boniface Church in Germantown, IL on November 11, 1964; four children, Bobby (Shelly) Fritz, Bryan Fritz, Stacy (Scott) Ross, Anne (Dave) Benton; and 7 grandchildren, Lucas Leonhardt, Robert and Alex Fritz, Emiley Fritz, Lauren, Ayden and Caroline Ross.
