   Cynthia A. Stepp, nee Gilkerson, 77 of Mascoutah, IL, born March 22, 1949, in Macomb, IL died Sunday, July 19, 2026, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, O’Fallon, IL.

   Cindy retired as a family childcare service coordinator for the USDA. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Cindy was a devoted and loving wife, mother, memaw, and sister, who never met a stranger and made sure to always put her family first.

   She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold W. and Katherine, nee Ward, Gilkerson, husband, Gregory C. Stepp, whom she married in Macomb, IL on July 9, 1968, and who died on Oct. 26, 2023.

   She is survived by her two children, Michelle Stepp of Mascoutah, IL, Michael (Amy) Stepp of O’Fallon, IL; five grandchildren, Tristan (Emily Norris) Stepp, Carter (Alyssa Currie) Stepp, Miranda (Alex Gorman) Schmiskie, Isabella Stepp, and Marissa Kjellsen; two sisters, Sandra Jackson, Pamela (Randy) Downey; a sister-in-law, Pamela (Richard) Carey; several nieces and nephews; also survived by her furry companions, Sadie Mae and Bailee.

   Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 5 Schiber Ct., Maryville, IL 62062 or American Heart Association,7272 Greenville Ave. Dallas, TX 75231. Condolences can be sent to the family by visiting mollfuneralhome.com.

   Visitation: From 2 to 5 PM Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.

   Funeral: A funeral service will be held at 9 AM Monday, July 27, 2026, at Moll Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
