Daniel E. "Tank" Thessing

   Daniel E. “Tank” Thessing, 75, of St. Libory, IL, born Feb. 11, 1951, in Belleville, IL, died Saturday Aug. 29, 2026, at his home.

   Daniel worked as an operator for Sparta Printing and was a truck driver for Dressler Trucking. He was a member of St. Liborius Catholic Church and Sons of American Legion Post 683, St. Libory. Daniels greatest joy was attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.

   He was preceded in death by his parents, Alphones H. and Francis A., nee Surmeier, Thessing Hundelt, stepfather, Urban H. Hundelt, two brothers, Richard “Preacher” Thessing, Paul Thessing, nephew, Drew Lintker, bother-in-law, Kurtiss Lintker, sister-in-law, Claudette Bergmann.

   Daniel is survived by his wife, Barb, nee Lintker, Thessing, whom he married at St. Liborius Catholic Church on July 17, 1976; a daughter, Lori Blue; two sons, Ben (Tracy) Thessing, Doug (Kayla) Thessing; seven grandchildren, Nolan, Connor, and Claire Blue, Finley and Fletcher Thessing, Cora and Everett Thessing; a sister, Ann Tweedy; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert (LaVerne) Lintker; a sister-in-law, Lisa (Allen) Schmale; two brothers-in-law, Ken Lintker, Keith Bergmann; also survived by aunts, nieces, and nephews.

FUNERAL: There will be a private funeral mass held at St. Liborius Catholic Church with Father Mark Stec celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Liborius Catholic Cemetery.
