Harold Friend

Harold Friend, 90, of Lebanon, IL, born Dec. 18, 1930 in Ravenden Springs, AR, died Tuesday, Mar. 30, 2021 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, O’Fallon, IL.

Harold was a retired locomotive engineer from the Terminal Railroad after 38 years of service. He was a U. S. Navy Korean War veteran and a recipient of Korean Service, United Nations Service, China Service and Navy Occupation Service medals.

Harold is preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Alma Ruth, nee Brock, Friend, a son, Danny Friend, a brother, Bruce Friend, a sister, Marjorie (Darrell) Rickman, brother-in-law, J.B. Rickman, mother-in-law and father-in-law.

Harold is survived his wife, Nancy, nee Manis, Friend whom he married in Pocahontas, AR on April 1, 1953; son, Michael Friend of Lebanon, IL; daughter, Wanda (Jerry) Nikolauzyk of Mascoutah, IL; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Wanda Rickman; a brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Funeral: Private graveside services will be held Friday, April 2, 2021 at Antioch Cemetery, Ravenden Springs, AR.
