Helen C. Burton

   Helen C. Burton, nee Griffin, 89, of Mascoutah, IL, born Mar. 23, 1936, in Pittsburgh, PA died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2025, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

   Helen was a retired housekeeper from West Main Nursing Home in Mascoutah and a member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah.

   She is preceded in death by her parents, Coleman and Helen C., nee Rumbaugh, Griffin, Sr., her husband, Milford L. “Bud” Burton, who died on Dec. 4, 2018, a brother, Coleman Griffin, Jr.

   Surviving are a son, Clifford (Candice) Burton of Franklin, NC; a daughter, Sandra (Wayne) Wilhelm of Mascoutah, IL; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; also surviving are, nieces, nephews, and friends.

   FUNERAL: A memorial mass will be held at 11 AM Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, at Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah, IL with Father Paul Wienhoff celebrating.
