Katherine A Cook

Katherine A. Cook, nee Shea, 67, of Belleville, IL, born Nov. 8, 1958, in Belleville, IL died Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at her home.

Katherine was a retired schoolteacher for one year at Holy Childhood Catholic School in Mascoutah, two years at Arkansas School for the Deaf, and 37 years at Blessed Sacrament Catholic School in Belleville and she loved to play the piano and guitar. Katherine was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Belleville, a volunteer at St. Vincent DePaul in East St. Louis and Unit Leader Garnier at Camp Ondessonk.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael J. and Margaret M. “Peggy”, nee Barnes, Shea and a sister, Annie Polczynski.

Katherine is survived by her husband, Patrick Cook, a son, Michael and fiancé, Ellie Bradshaw, three daughters, Jennifer (Rob) Rowlett, Megan (Josh) Burns, and Bridget (Patrick) Smith; five grandchildren, Owen and Ethan Rowlett, Austin and Lily Burns, and Lucy Katherine Smith; three brothers, Kevin (Lori) Shea, Tim (Lana) Shea, Dennis (Candace) Shea, a sister, Noreen (David) Frame; and nieces, nephews, a great nephew and great nieces, cousins and many friends.

Visitation: From 3 to 6 PM Sunday, May 17, 2026 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Belleville.

Funeral: A funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Monday, May 18, 2026 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Belleville. Burial will be held at a later date.
