Kelly Jean Hostmeyer, 49, of Belleville, IL born January 19, 1976, in Belleville, IL died January 8, 2026, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO.
Kelly enjoyed being outdoors with her friends and family, especially fishing. She also was the life of any party she attended and wanted people around her to feel welcomed and loved. She treated everyone like family and became “Momma Kelly” once she met you. In recent years, she spent her days with Terry and Sara Crossin, thrifting, cooking, raising animals, and helping care for their daughter Kaitlynn. She was a member of the American Pool Players Association.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Pamela, nee Lemke, Whaley, father, Dennis L. Hostmeyer, stepmother, Nancy, nee Avants, Hostmeyer, paternal grandparents, Ottis and Emma Ann “Ditty” Hostmeyer, maternal grandparents, Edgar and Alta Lemke, two brothers, Brooke Hostmeyer and Phillip Cory, and former husband of 16 years Steven M. Richardson.
Kelly is survived by two daughters, Ashley (Derrick) Wombacher and Winter (Harley) Richardson, of Freeburg, IL; one granddaughter, Chloe Richardson of Freeburg, IL; one brother, Randy Cory of Granite City, IL; two sisters, Adrianne (Dale) Nuckolls of Eureka, MO and Rebecca (Mike) Sullivan of Glen Carbon, IL; two brothers-in-law, David (Ravy) Skaggs of Charlotte, NC and Jessie (Brittanie) Skaggs of Benton, IL; stepfather, William “Bill” Whaley of Freeburg, IL; and bonus moms, Rose King, Sue Fehlhaber, and Sonja Harris; also survived by 13 nephews, 5 nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, many cherished friends and co-workers.
In lieu of all other gifts memorials may be made to the family for funeral expenses at Moll Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting mollfuneralhome.com.
Visitation: From 4 to 7 PM Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026, and from 9 to 10 AM Friday, Jan. 16, 2026, at Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.
Funeral: A funeral service will be held 10 AM Friday, Jan. 16, 2026, at Moll Funeral Home with Pastor Sarah Rugenstone officiating. Burial will follow in Mascoutah City Cemetery.
