Leonard E. Cleary, Jr.

Leonard E. Cleary, Jr., 80, of Mascoutah, IL born Aug. 6, 1944, in Chicago, IL died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2024, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. 

Leonard was a former assistant state’s attorney for St. Clair County, IL. He was a member of the Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah. He enjoyed piloting small aircraft in his spare time. Leonard was a United States Marine Vietnam war veteran. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard E. and Eva, nee McBride, Cleary, Sr., a sister, Elizabeth, and two half-brothers, Bud and Jerry.

Leonard is survived by his daughter, Laura (James) Lynch of Silver Spring, MD; four grandchildren, Matthew (Katie), Monique, Marky, and Alexander Lynch; two great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Brayden Lynch.
