Lloyd A. Sandheinrich, 78, of St. Libory, IL, born Aug. 18, 1939 in Venedy, IL, died Monday, Mar. 20, 2018 at his residence with his loving family by his side.
He was a retired carpenter; a member of the St. Liborius Catholic Church, in St. Libory; a 52 year member of the St. Libory American Legion Post 683; a member of the Carpenters Union Local 1739 out of St. Louis for over 55 years; and a U. S. Army Korean War veteran.
Lloyd was an avid hunter; he enjoyed playing softball; spending time with his family; and was a wonderful and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Laura, nee Wienstroer, Sandheinrich; two sisters, Mary Louise (Edward) Getz, and Rita Ann (Bernard) Gebke; a brother, Elroy Sandheinrich; two brothers-in-law, Wilburn Gale, and Casimir Hummert.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Patricia, nee Johnson, Sandheinrich whom he married in St. Libory, IL on Oct. 27, 1984; a son, Jonathan Sandheinrich of St. Libory, IL; a stepdaughter, Angela, nee Schwankhaus (Randy) Koeller of St. Libory, IL; step-grandchildren, Jordan (Kyle) Sandheinrich, and Taylor (Christopher “Shotty”) Kesel; three sisters, Elizabeth Gale of St. Louis, MO, Lois Hummert of Mascoutah, IL, and LaVerne (Robert) Lintker of St. Libory, IL; two brothers, Charles (Arlene) Sandheinrich of Freeburg, IL, and Elmer (Darleen) Sandheinrich of Millstadt, IL; a sister-in-law, Betty Gay Sandheinrich of Mascoutah, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of all other gifts, memorials may be made to the St. Liborius Cemetery Fund; Hospice of Southern Illinois, Inc., or for Masses. Condolences can be sent to the family by visiting mollfuneralhome.com
Visitation: Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Mar. 24, 2018 at St. Liborius Catholic Church, St. Libory, IL.
Funeral: A funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Mar. 24, 2018 at St. Liborius Catholic Church, St. Libory, IL with Father Paul Wienhoff officiating. Burial will be in St. Liborius Catholic Cemetery, St. Libory, IL.
