Mary M. Wright

   Mary M. Wright, nee Trautt, 71, of Mascoutah, IL, born May 6, 1954, in Belleville, IL died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025, at Villas of Holly Brook Assisted Living, Belleville, IL.

   Mary retired as a Procurement Analyst in 2016 after working for the Department of Defense for over 30 years. She graduated from the University of Illinois in 1976 with a degree in Finance and then received her MBA from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 1986.

   Mary had an exemplary career, including being the Contracting Officer for the Civil Reserve Air Fleet contract during its first activation; coordinating USTRANSCOM cases; and handling Freedom of Information Act requests for the Directorate. She excelled in her work and was respected by her colleagues for her diligence and fairness.

   She was an active member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah and was dedicated to her job, education, and her family.

   Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Stephen A. and Lucille C., nee Riess, Trautt, her husband, John R. Wright, who died on July 31, 2019.

   She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen L. Wright (Bryant Powell); granddaughter, Freya N. Powell; sister, Anne (Robert) Reher; brother, Stephen (Mary) Trautt; also survived by four nephews.

   Visitation: From 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025, at Moll Funeral Home, Mascoutah, IL.

   Funeral: A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025, at Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah, IL with Father Mark Stec celebrating. Burial will follow in Holy Childhood Catholic Cemetery, Mascoutah, IL.
