Ruth A. Mattern, nee Dickhaut, 93, of Mascoutah, IL, born Nov. 12, 1931, in Mascoutah, IL, died Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Addington Place in Shiloh, IL.
Ruth was a retired bookkeeper and homemaker. Ruth’s greatest passion was caring for her family. Her devotion and unconditional love were endless, and she will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Mascoutah.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert R. and Meta B., nee Krausz, Dickhaut, and husband, Virgil J. Mattern, who died March 20, 2025.
Ruth is survived by her son, Dean (Karen) Roehrig, two grandsons, Ryan (Nicole) Roehrig, Robert (Allison) Roehrig; three great grandchildren, Parker, Reese, and Emmylou; brother, Robert Dickhaut; niece, Shelia Frerker, nephew, Bruce (Nancy) Dickhaut; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

FUNERAL: A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Moll Funeral Home with Rev. Cherie Hambleton officiating. Burial will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
