Thomas J Bergkoetter

Thomas J, Bergkoetter, 91, of St. Libory, IL, born Oct. 19, 1934, in St. Libory, IL died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, O’Fallon, IL.

Tom was a retired Chevrolet dealer in St. Libory for many years and also an avid bowler. He was a member of St. Liborius Catholic Church, St. Libory, American Legion Post 683, St. Libory, former St. Libory School Board member and St. Libory Volunteer Fire Department, Hall of Fame member of Mon-Clair County Baseball League and a U. S. Air Force veteran.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Anna, nee Mense, Bergkoetter, his wife, Dolores C., nee Buescher, Bergkoetter whom he married in St. Libory on Nov. 14, 1956, and who died Feb. 9, 2021, two great grandsons, Hadley and Wyley Dressler, two brothers, James (Norma) and Albert (Yvonne) Bergkoetter.

Surviving are his children, Ron (Sandy) Bergkoetter of St. Libory, IL, Dave (Kelly) Bergkoetter of Addieville, IL, Sharon (Joe) Robertson of St. Libory, IL, Dean (Kirsten) Bergkoetter of Freeburg, IL; 10 grandchildren, Briana (Kyle) Swierczek, Abby (Zach) Eckert, Emily Bergkoetter, Hilary (Nick) Dressler, Hanna (Logan) Kay, Hope Bergkoetter and fiancé, Cole Gelfius, Kelsey (Amar) Fejzic, Shelby (Matthew) Reynolds, Allison Bergkoetter and fiancé, Sidney Hose, Travis (Shea) Bergkoetter; seven great grandchildren, Eleanor, Oliver and Theodore Swierczek, Wesley David Dressler, River and Oaklyn Kay, and Brooks Eckert, a sister, Mary (Kenneth) Koeller, a sister-in-law, Sandra Buescher, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: From 5 to 8 PM Friday, Oct. 2, 2026, at St. Liborius Catholic Church in St. Libory, IL.

Funeral: A funeral Mass will be held 10 AM Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026, at St. Liborius Catholic Church with Father Mark Stec celebrating. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Liborius Catholic Cemetery.
