Vincent J. Byrne

   Vincent J. Byrne, 93, of Mascoutah, IL born June 3, 1932, in Shenandoah, PA died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2026, at Memorial Hospital, Shiloh, IL.

   Vincent retired as a Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force. He joined the Air Force at the age of 18. He was a veteran of service for 27 years and is a veteran of both Korea and Vietnam War. Vincent is a member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah and was a Sacristan for The Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows for 27 years.

   He is preceded in death by his parents, Jeremiah and Kathleen, nee Kelly, Byrne, a son, Michael Byrne, six brothers, James, John (Regina), Jeremiah (Margaret), William (Nora), Paul (Barbara), and David Byrne, three sisters, Kathryn (John) Dougherty, Margaret (John) Devanney, Anne and first husband, David Carduff and second husband, Art Bramley, daughter-in-law, Vivian Byrne, sister-in-law, Georgia (Delmar) Barnard.

   He is survived by his wife, Marilyn R., nee Brown, whom he married on Sept. 26, 1959; four children, Vincent Byrne, Jr., Katherine (Jeffrey) Bernal, Timothy Byrne, Shawn (Jeania) Byrne; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Syndey Thomas (Sherida) Brown; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

   Visitation: From 4 to 8 PM Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, at Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah, IL.

   Funeral: A funeral Mass will be held 10 AM Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026, at Holy Childhood Catholic Church with Father Mark Stec celebrating. Burial with military honors will follow in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
